Vice President, Finance

    As a key member of the senior leadership team, the VP of Finance will work hand-in-hand with the CEO to develop and execute the company strategy and support the rapid scaling of the business. This role is accountable for overseeing, bringing structure to, and continuously improving finance function capabilities that enable growth at scale. The VP of Finance is responsible for all of the company’s daily finance and accounting operations.

      The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of current accounting practices and trends as well as strong experience in controllership and financial planning. More importantly, the VP of Finance must also be able to see the big picture and help set the vision as well as translate that vision into concrete and discrete actionable steps that enable the company to achieve its goals. The ideal candidate must have experience managing and analyzing large data sets to support and identify opportunities, build and refine financial models, and drive the firm to success. Ideally, the VP Finance will have the potential to grow in to a CFO level position as the company scales.


      Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:


      • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP, and monitor the use of all funds.
      • Prepare monthly financial reports, metrics, and projections to measure progress to goals and, highlight areas of opportunity, as well as potential risks.
      • Direct the annual operating plan and budget process, and assist in the preparation of quarterly shareholder reports.
      • Develop and maintain the company’s finance and accounting policies and procedures.
      • Coordinate all audit activities, including periodic internal audits to ensure systems and controls are adequate to reduce risk and ensure accurate fiscal reporting and analysis.

      Financial and Operational Management

      • Maintain direct responsibility for overseeing all accounts receivable, accounts payable, annual planning, forecasting, budget preparations, invoicing, cash management, investments, insurance, real estate and financial reporting.
      • Provide timely and accurate reporting on business performance, including key performance indicators, and develop mechanisms to hold the company accountable to its goals.
      • Continuously and proactively monitor, review, and evaluate business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide sound financial advice to the senior leadership team.
      • Ensure the company’s financial systems will scale with the company’s growth, and oversee the continuous improvement of those systems. Lead efforts for any new financial system implementations or significant changes to existing financial systems.
      • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements by studying existing and new legislation, and taking the necessary actions to ensure the company is in compliance. Act as an advisor to management on regulations and other matters that may impact the financial activities of the company, engaging with outside consultants if applicable.
      • Build continuous improvement feedback loops to identify deficiencies or areas of improvement in the company’s financial and accounting operations.
      • Develop effective cost allocations processes to support contribution profit analyses.
      • Lead the selection of new suppliers and vendors, including contract negotiations and compliance monitoring.
      • Build, develop, and manage the company’s finance and accounting staff.


      • Partner closely with the CEO on refining company strategy, growth plans, and execution to ensure the company maximizes its return on invested capital.
      • Identify the key drivers of business growth and value, including developing a deep understanding of company and industry pricing and service models as well as competitive benchmarking, and use that understanding to drive improvements to the company’s operating model.
      • Support the rapid scaling of the business by improving cash flow efficiency as well as securing outside sources of capital.
      • Oversee long-term budget plans that support the company’s strategy and growth plans.
      • Develop financial systems for managing a large operating staff, including the development and administration of variable compensation plans.
      • Manage the company’s growing real estate footprint, including assisting in new site selection and lease negotiation.
      • Support the development of the company’s technology platform, spanning software and robotics, by building and refining financial models that will inform the company’s capital raising strategy.



      • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or other related field of study; MBA strongly preferred.
      • CPA level candidate, preferably 1 – 2 years of accounting function experience as a controller; or experience working with a public accounting firm.
      • Startup or early growth stage company experience highly preferred. Agility and interest in operating within a scaling, growth equity stage company.
      • Experiencing working with and analyzing large data sets. Strong experience building financial models and proficient in SQL (or demonstrated strong ability to learn quickly).
